Hi, I’m Arwen! I’m a follower of Jesus, Senior in college, and future RN. I’m a native Long Islander and love to be out by the water with an iced coffee and a good book.

I’ve always been the ‘dessert person’ in my family – baking any sweet treat you can imagine. Still, I was hesitant about baking bread because I thought I needed all the right kitchen gadgets and expensive ingredients. That all changed in 2024 when my little sister was born. She loved eating bread. So much so that we couldn't leave the house without it. Seeing how much she was eating, my dad looked into the ingredients and began researching the impact of preservatives, enriched flour, and other additives. They weren’t ingredients we wanted my 1 year-old sister to eat if she loved it so much. That’s when I decided to try my hand at sourdough. My first loaf came out flat and tasted something like cardboard. After much trial and error, my sourdough started to become the food my whole family loved, not just my sister. Now, it’s become part of my Saturday routine to bake bread for my family. I finally realized that I didn’t need all the fancy ingredients or the expensive gadgets. All I needed was a little flour, water, and salt. I’m excited to bring my bread from my kitchen to yours. I hope you enjoy it just like my sister does!
